It's funny.....sometimes this "fitness" blog of mine seems more like an edition of "Sunset Magazine" what with all the camping, home improvement, decorating, wine, pacific northwest travel, and cooking stories I share from time to time. This last weekend we spent up near Astoria Oregon at Fort Stevens State Park campground. It's actually the largest campground in the state of Oregon with something like 475 campsites. Some loops seemed like small cities with full electrical hookup, water, and even a sewer line for RVs. Our loop was a little more rustic with tent campers and the occasional pop-up camper or trailer like we have...plus it was only 25% occupied which made things nice and quiet. Unlike the bigger loops with full service, playgrounds, and kids on bicycles everywhere (((( shudder )))).

Cuddled up by the campfire.

1 mile hike to the beach brought us to the wreck of the Peter Iredale (from the turn of the century)

And who doesn't love being able to cook breakfast while sitting down? Whew it's smokey in there.....turkey sausage!

GPS-ing on the coast

Fresh shrimp on the bar-b!

Yum! Chardonnay in a plastic wine glass :) Cheers to camping!
Hoping to see you at Xpedition.
Well, at least you have Mr. YogaGirl wrapped in a Yoga Blanket!
Looks like fuuuun! Your pics are great - wish I was there!
Mmmmm! Scrimps!
Camping is so much fun! And man... I want shrimp now. It's SO GOOD. I hope
we go camping this year.
Hi! I just read your comment from BP's site about the peacocks and I had to
come over, we have had the same thing happen! some people down the road got
2 peacocks (male & female) and they are now loose around the 'hood.
fortunately for us they have chosen to roost in our tree above our bedroom!
i have contacted the animal control as have other neighbors, they placed a
trap but were unable to catch them. the animal control told us that a
citizen would have to catch them? anyhoo, I was glad to read about your
similar circumstances minus the fact that they ended up having 25 more!!
p.s. I live north of Corvallis! I just read around your blog a bit and
realized you live up the road! Maybe they're the same peacocks!
Oh that looks so fun-- and I LOVE that your blog has all the aspects of
your life--- don't stop sharing all of it-- and I really want to come out
to Portland OR sometime-- really truly
Great pictures!! Looks like it was a nice, relaxed trip.
Wait. WE want to come and visit you TOO. :-) Well. That whole part of the
northwest coast since neither of us have been there... the furthest up the
coast I've been was San Fran back in like, 1984 when my family just moved
to the States.
