As a mantra of fact.......

double duty....

posted Sunday, 25 May 2008

I'm only rotating in on weekends at the yoga studio now. I got both Saturday and Sunday this week which works out well because it frees up my other weekends completely..rather then working a Saturday one week and a Sunday the next. So many of our regular students work during the week that they double up on classes on the weekend, and I had a lot of repeat customers today. It was actually fun to offer two competely different classes. Yesterday we did lots of gentle back bending and chest opening and worked into a headstand inversion, where today we focused on twists and worked into plow and shoulder stand inversions. Sadly, I don't rotate into the weekend schedule again until June 21st. I hope to fit some time into my schedule to take a class or two for myself between now and then.  I've even toyed with the idea of going back to Bikram again except that the weather is warming up and the idea of the hot room isn't as appealing as it was in the dead of frozen winter.

In other news the resident yoga instructor at the local gym is on vacation this week so I'm subbing 3 of her classes. Two of them are at 6am. Ugh. I so *totally* detest getting up at 5:30. The upside is getting to teach a totally new group of students.

Hat's off to you if you can get up at 5:30 and make it to a 6 am class!! I require at least 1.5 hours to allow myself to sit around and drink coffee and come to life before I'll consider leaving for a class...and my gym is on the end of my street.
