Nature's TV....

We had a nice relaxing weekend over at the Metolius River near Sisters Oregon. Here is the view from our campsite. That sound you hear is the rushing river. I can almost smell the Ponderosa Pines....

All week I've literally been a day ahead in my brain. My normal routine is seriously mixed up.  I've had to sub 5 extra classes, 3 of them at 6am. It also doesn't help that Mr. Yogagirl has been working four 10 hours d

Peaceful Warrior wisdom...

Run down to the video store and rent "Peaceful Warrior" tonight or tomorrow.  Nay...make it a LEAP to the video store for this gem of a movie. I can't remember who recommended it to me but I think it was a few months ago after

Saturday, 19 July 2008 1:48 P GMT-08
Our Salem Yoga Studio is offering free yoga in the park this weekend, at the annual art festival in Bush pasture park. This morning was my opportunity to teach while the other instructors presented modifications/advancements up on stage, or milled ar

Wow. It doesn't get much better than this in the Willamette Valley. Our favorite vineyard Left Coast Cellarsdebuted their summer offering tonight for wine club members. A new Pinot Noir Rose. The weather was perfect. Clear skies, l

Water aerobics is one of my more challenging formats to teach. Not because of the moves, the content, or the workout itself..it's the setting. A hot and humid indoor pool area, horrible accoustics, hard cement deck surface that beats my joints up

Diet Camping.....

Saturday, 12 July 2008 9:13 P GMT-08
Errr.....Camping Lite? Oh heck, call a spade a spade. The word of the day is PICNIC. Yep.  No time to go camping this weekend because I've got to teach at the yoga studio both mornings. So we drove about 35 miles this afternoon to

A pergola? What's that?

Friday, 11 July 2008 9:45 A GMT-08
Most people give me a very "deer in the headlights" kind of look when I tell them all about our new pergola-this huge shade structure we've been building in our backyard. Usually if I follow it up with "Uh..an arbor? You know that

Well I've finally made the plunge and have decided to just go ahead and get my personal trainer certification. I'm going the ACE route, only because most of the continuing education I already do for my group fitness can help supplement what I

Berry good.....

Sunday, 6 July 2008 6:00 P GMT-08
We spent most of yesterday afternoon out at the local U-pick berry farms. With strawberries for 80 cents a pound and blueberries for a mere $1.25 a pound..it's an amazing thing to be able to go out and gather these little jewels ourselves. W

It happens to the best of us.....

Uh oh.  At approximately 11:00 this morning it suddenly dawned on me that I was supposed to teach the Saturday 8:30am cycling class today. It didn't help that: I canceled my class Thursday night because of the holiday weekend.

Hometown 4th of July..

Friday, 4 July 2008 2:15 P GMT-08
I live in a small town in Oregon of about 8000 people. If you add in the population of our sister city that sits right next door it boosts our numbers to a whooping 15000. Whooo. I think our master planned community where we lived

Ugh. We've been out in the heat all week (me during the day between my AM and PM classes, him at night after work) painting this monster of a pergola in our backyard (our new 34 foot by 15 foot patio shade structure..pictures to come once it'

Take me to the river.....

Ahhh..nature's air conditioning. The heat was on in the valley here this last weekend so we decided to bug out to the forest. Great idea in theory until you get out there and every one else had the very SAME idea. We headed up the Little North Sa
